Scholarships

The Department of Theatre, Film and Dance has several scholarships available. Scholarship announcements are made in the Spring of each year. The scholarships are:
 

Albert & Mildred Van Duzer Scholarship

  • For Majors or minors in Theatre, Film, Dance or ISDS
  • $1500
  • Artistic potential in creative production and performance is the sole criterion for the award.

John & Ethelyn Pauley Scholarship

  • For undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a Theatre Arts degree 
  • Award(s) given for creative potential and innovative ability in Theatre Arts
  • Amounts and numbers of scholarships are estimates, dependent on funding
  • Applications due 1/31/22
  • To apply, upload a letter of application explaining why you should be considered
  • Upload a resume of activities or artistic work including prizes won and/or awards conferred
  • Upload 2-4 letters of recommendation from Humboldt faculty members

Richard Rothrock Memorial Fund Awards

  • For Majors or minors in Theatre, Film, Dance or ISDS
  • Multiple awards possible
  • For equipment or materials needed to complete special projects
  • For travel-related costs for conferences where student work is being presented or juried
  • If in doubt, submit your request!!
  • Available throughout the year
  • Submit a 1-page memo, addressed to the Scholarship Committee, outlining your project and how you would use the funding to complete it. Include your GPA, what year you are in, and any notable activity in the Department. Drop the memo off in Theatre Arts room 20.

Travis McKinley Dow Memorial Scholarship

  • For undergraduate students in Theatre, Film, Dance or another art form with experience in sound scores, guitar, or keyboard
  • $1000
  • Artistic potential in creative production and performance is the sole criterion for the award.
